KWASNYCIA, Peter John

Born March, 1929 and Died April 30, 2013

Pre-deceased by his wife June, parents, William and Elizabeth Kwasnycia, Sister Frances, and brothers Joseph, Edward, Leonard and Henry.

Survived by daughter Debra and Son Mark (Brenda). Sister, Rose Wisniach (Colorado Springs) and many nieces and nephews.

Pete was a retired truck driver, and proud of it, who spent most of his career at Yellow Freight Systems (Formerly ICL Windsor). He loved to tell stories about his days growing up near Vilna, Alberta, where he was born in a log cabin which still stands today, to driving truck before the 401 was built and the “adventures” he and his trucking buddies shared and reminiscing about time spent with the people he loved. He also loved spending time with his very best buddies over the years – Henry, Sydney and Sophie, his beloved four footed friends. And last, but definitely not least, he will be remembered for his absolute devotion to his beloved Detroit Tigers.

He was a quiet, modest man who loved to laugh, who loved his family, including his extended family, and who enjoyed simple pleasures. He was surprised by the number of people who came forward over the last few months and shared how much he had impacted their lives in big and small ways. Many people leave this world not knowing if they have made a difference. Thanks to so many for making sure Dad knew he made a difference and will not be forgotten.

Special thanks to his nurses, Danielle and Susan, the team at Hospice, Dr. P. Kelton, Beth Reid, CCAC Coordinator, and the many health care providers who helped him through his last few months. Also, special thank

o were there for him and his family during a very difficult time. This journey would have been much more difficult without your love and support.

Anyone who knew Dad knows he was a private man. In keeping with his wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place.

Arrangements entrusted to the C. Stuart Sykes Funeral Home, Kingsville and condolences may be left at www.sykesfuneralhome.ca
